JIm Steranko writes up a solid obit here. Priess was one fo the frist people who thoughts comics could go mainstream, and did a lot of book projects that seemed strange at the time, but now seem perfectly normal. He was ahead of his time in almost every way, so it is sadly ironic he dies ahead of his time as well.

What the hell are YOU looking at? I am full of piss and vinegar. OK, more like green tea and Guinness, but that will eventually fill you with piss, so that is all the people need to know.
