After The Fall II

Every November, I get roped into the insanity that is NaNoWriMo, the National Novel Writing Month, where each person writes their own 50,000 word novel. Not only do I take part, but I think it is a wonderful thing for anyone who considers themselves a writer to do. It forces you to quit thinking and start writing, with a clear goal, clear deadlines and lot of other people who are just as crazy as you are for doing so.

This year, I was convinced to write a sequel to the 2002 novel, although the original title "5 Years After" had to be jettisonned because of some stupid British zombie movie with a similar title. Also, in 2002, there were not quite as many zombie movies out there that drew off of the legacy of George Romero (who isn't dead yet). Now, there seems to be zombie movies, zombie comics and zombie voters, but this is a zombie novel.

If you want to plunge into it without reading the one from 2002, go ahead. It does stand alone, but if you DO read the 2002 novel first, you'll have a better understanding of the characters and the plot.

The novel is set five years after a zombie infestation shut down society. For more info, read the book, I'm not going to "Cliff's Notes" it for you. I took a month to write it, you can take a day or so to read it.

I would appreciate feedback, and during the month of January, the two novels will be edited into one. Hopefully, the merry band that has assembled in the novel will actually get to when I have plotted them to go. In 2002, I missed the mark by a LONG shot, and when you are writing around 2000 words a day, the story tends to go where it wants.

Completed!! 58688 Words this year! W00t!

So, here it is:
